Marie, we finally got the Layered Solutions site ready and our first product is now available for download.  I was hoping you could post some of our info on the Knoxville SharePoint User's group site, and of course forward this email to anyone you think might be interested.
 
We wanted to share some goodies for free with the sharepoint community as a way of promoting our product and brand, so we have made our first product available with a Free Basic Edition.  We only require registration with a valid email address to download the product.
 
AutoFill for Sharepoint
The first product is AutoFill for Sharepoint its designed to work with any list on both MOSS 2007 and WSS 3.  It support the standard field types and allows a user to store multiple templates.
 
Free vs Pro Edition
We of course put some limits to its functionality and support to encourage purchase of the pro version.  The limits are mostly to scalability so the functionality can be fully used within limits.  The Free Autofill tool limits the usage to one list per farm and the user can only store 5 templates at a time.  The Pro version is unlimited and is licensed on a per farm basis, this costs $500 with 1 year of support $200 additional.  We also plan to offer an enterprise version for mutli farm organizations and hosters at $1,000 + $350 per year support.
 
Sharepoint 2010
We of course plan of offering these tools as free upgrades versions for SP 2010 when its released.  From what we have seen so far, our tools are still unique add ons for SharePoint going forward.  We see many more tools that can be designed with the new release providing enhancements and greater scalability.
